73% of office workers “Want to work remotely even if the corona ends”
On the 23rd, Microsoft (MS) released the’Annual Business Trend Index’ based on the results of a survey of 30,000 people in 31 countries including Korea.
Nevertheless, Microsoft explained that the need for a hybrid work environment will continue even after the end of Corona 19 because the concept of work or workplace has fundamentally changed over the past year. In the meantime, the physical concept of the workplace will soon disappear, and whether or not the company has introduced the flexible work system will be a critical variable for employees entering, leaving, and staying.
In fact, 73% of the workers who participated in the survey said they want the flexible telework option to continue in the future. On LinkedIn, the world’s largest social media service specializing in business, the number of hiring posts in positions that can work remotely during the pandemic has increased by more than five times. In addition, 41% of the world’s workforce is considering resigning from their current job this year. He is thinking about moving to a work environment where remote work is possible.
It was one of the notable changes that came to perceive work colleagues closer than before the coronavirus. About 40% of the respondents said they are not feeling uncomfortable with showing their present appearance than before the pandemic, and 1 in 6 people shed tears after exchanging emotions with coworkers this year. The company interpreted that human exchanges began in earnest as private parts such as family and companion animals were shared through video conferences as the work from home continued for a long period of time.
“The traditional time and space concepts like when, where and how we work are no longer valid,” said Jared Spataro, vice president of MS 365. “You have to maximize flexibility.”
