On the 25th, 12 new cases of coronavirus infection (Corona 19) occurred in Gyeongnam.
Gyeongnam Province announced that 12 new confirmed cases (Gyeongnam 1867~1878) occurred compared to 5 pm the previous day through a briefing on Corona 19 response in the afternoon. All are local infections, 11 are contacts of confirmed patients, and 1 are investigating the route of infection.
By region, there are 5 in Changwon, 4 in Geoje, 2 in Jinju, and 1 in Miryang.
Of the five confirmed patients in Changwon (Gyeongnam 1870~1871, 1876~1878), 1870~1871 and 1876 were contacts of confirmed patients in the province. Gyeongnam Nos. 1877-1878 were confirmed to be related to the Jinju International Prayer Center and were tested positive before quarantine. As a result, the number of confirmed cases related to Jinju International Prayer Center increased to 71.
Of the four confirmed Geoje patients (Gyeongnam 1867-1868, 1873-1874), 1867 was a contact with confirmed patients in the metropolitan area. Gyeongnam No. 1868, 1873 are contacts of confirmed cases in the province.
Gyeongnam No. 1874 is a confirmed person related to’Geoje care service’. As a result, the cumulative number of’Geoje medical service related’ confirmed 20 people. Two confirmed patients in Jinju (No. 1869, 1875, Gyeongnam) were contacts of confirmed patients in Tokyo.
The Miryang confirmed case, Gyeongnam No. 1872, had symptoms and was tested and positive. The route of infection is under investigation.
One confirmed patient in her 80s who was being hospitalized and treated at the Gyeongsang National University Hospital in Changwon this morning died.
In addition, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 21st that during an epidemiological investigation related to the Jinju International Prayer Center, a companion animal (cat) of the confirmed patient was confirmed to be corona19. Do believes that this case is the first case in Korea that has been confirmed positive for Corona 19 among companion animals.
In this regard, Shin Jong-woo, head of the Gyeongnam Province Health and Welfare Bureau, said, “There is no basis for the transmission of Corona 19 from animals to humans until now.”
As of this day, the cumulative corona19 confirmed in Gyeongnam province has increased to 1,875. 211 confirmed patients were hospitalized and treated, and the remaining 1,657 were discharged. Seven people died.
