[아시아경제 정동훈 기자] Turkey is expected to introduce a vaccine developed by Pfizer in the US and Bio&Tech, a German pharmaceutical company, within this month.

Turkish Health Minister Fahretin Koza said on the 18th (local time) that after the end of the Coronavirus Scientific Committee, “4.5 million doses of Pfizer vaccine (one dose) will be brought in within this month.” He added that “58,000 doses of Pfizer vaccine for testing have already arrived in Turkey,” he added. “Vaccines will be administered in the order set by the government.”

The Turkish government plans to vaccinate adults aged 60 to 65 starting next week. Turkey has been vaccinating the coronavirus vaccine made by Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinobac since last January. According to the Ministry of Health, about 12.35 million people had been vaccinated against coronavirus more than once the day before, which is about 14.9% of the total population of 83 million.
