Tsunami swallowed by wife… My husband has been diving into the sea for 10 years to find the body. [영상]

Ten years after the March 11 Great East Japan Earthquake broke out, there is a Japanese husband who is still looking for his wife’s whereabouts, with 2,500 people still missing.

According to BTV in China and local media in Japan on the 11th, Yasuo Takamatsu, 64, has been looking for his wife’s whereabouts for 10 years.

Takamatsu Yasuo’s wife Yuko (then 47) was lost in a tsunami while working part-time near Onagawa Bay in Miyagi Prefecture during the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011. After the disappearance of his wife, he continued to inquire about the evacuation center and the corpse, but there was no way to know where he was.

In 2014, the third year of the earthquake, Takamatsu even obtained the national license as a diver. It was because he decided to search the sea himself and find his wife.

He is heading to the sea almost every week. They also receive diving training once a month to increase their stamina and concentration.

When it first started, it was not easy to soak in the sea, but it is said that it has been diving more than 470 times in the past 7 years with the desire to bring his wife.

Searching through diving takes 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes each time. It descends to a depth of 40m, where the light hardly reaches. After checking the distance from the diving teammates, he searches for sediments such as debris and sediment on the seabed by hand.

He continued to dive for 7 years and found albums and gym suits with his name in the sea. At the same time, he finds his wife and participates in volunteer work to pick up garbage on the seabed.
The reason he can’t stop the dive is because his wife’s last message to him is caught up in her heart.

The last message my wife sent was “Are you okay? I want to go home.” First, it was a wife who was worried about her husband.

Takamatsu said, “My wife told me that she wanted to go home,” and said, “I think you’ll still want to come home. I really want to take you home.”

Takamatsu looked back at his wife as a gentle and kind person. I’ve never had a fight. It was the most fun for the couple to go out for a drive together on holidays.

He hasn’t given up hope yet.

“I will continue to dive until my wife’s body is found or my body can no longer move,” he said. “I believe in the day we will meet again. I hope we can find it someday.”
