Trump’s shame of being’stripped’… Bank accounts with 7-year transactions are also closed

Former President Donald Trump, who left the White House, is suffering from the closing of his bank account.

The Washington Post (WP) reported on the 21st (local time) that Bank United, based in Florida, has closed the account of former President Trump. According to the WP, Trump has had an account with the bank since at least 2015. As of the end of last year, it is estimated that there were 5.1 million to 25.2 million dollars (about 27.8 billion won) in two accounts.

Former President Trump has been neglected by several financial institutions and businesses after supporters invade Congress on the 6th. The aftermath of the parliamentary intrusion continues.

The Bloomberg news agency reported that the bank where Trump’s son lent money to buy a home in Marrakech, a resort area, also closed the account. In an interview with Bloomberg, Coral Gables-based spokesman for Professional Bank, “I will no longer do business with the Trump family.”

Previously, the venue for the 2022 American Professional Golf (PGA) Championship, which was scheduled to be held at a golf course owned by former President Trump, was also changed urgently. New York Mayor Bill Double Lazio also announced that he would cancel all contracts with the Trump Group, and Trump lost control of the Central Park skating rink.

To make matters worse, Trump’s family business was also found to have been severely hit by the aftermath of Corona 19. On the 21st, the Associated Press reported that the Trump Group had recorded sales of 278 million dollars (about 300 billion won) in the past year and the beginning of this year, citing the property disclosures submitted by former President Trump to the government the day before. This is a 38% decrease from 2019 sales (about $450 million).

In the midst of this, CNN reported that a bill for impeachment by former President Trump passed in the US House of Representatives on charges of inciting a civil war could be sent to the Senate as early as the 22nd (local time).

The US political media Politico also reported that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi expects to send the impeachment bill to the Senate within a few days, and that it could be as early as the 22nd. Chairman Pelosi said the transmission would be made sooner or later, without specifying the timing.

In response, Mitch McConnell, the Republican leader of the Republican Party, delayed sending the impeachment bill to the Senate to the Democratic Party until the 28th, and asked Trump to give him a two-week period to prepare for the defense. According to McConnell’s request, the Senate impeachment proceedings for former President Trump will begin in the middle of next month.

The Democratic Party is also struggling over the timing of the impeachment trial. This is because there is a burden that the policies promoted by President Joe Biden may be buried if interest is directed to Trump impeachment by sending the impeachment bill. Another problem is the delay in the Senate approval of President Biden’s nominee.

In the Senate, where Ui-suk was tightly divided into 50-50, negotiations on the operation plan between the in-house representatives still remain a variable. Republican Senate Representative Mitch McConnell is demanding that 60 out of 100 votes be agreed upon before the voting proceeds, but the Democratic Party is not.

The two parties had the seats themselves divided in half, but the Republican Party has given the Senate majority status to the Democratic Party because the Senate chairman is also Vice President Camela Harris.

In the midst of this, the New York Times reported on the 21st that Trump was also preparing for the impeachment trial in earnest.

Trump appoints South Carolina-based attorney Butch Bowers as the impeachment advocate. Senator Lindsey Graham, his closest close friend, is known to have recommended Bowers.

Bowers has a history of defending the crisis-ridden Republican governors. At first, Trump’s private attorney, Rudy Giuliani, was expected to act as a defense, but it was said to have failed.
