Twitter has permanently suspended the Persian account under Iran’s top leader, Ayatollah Sayed Ali Hamenei. This is just after an image that hints at revenge against former US President Donald Trump recently came up.

According to the Associated Press on the 22nd (local time), Twitter has decided to permanently suspend Hamenei’s Persian account (@khamenei_site).

The previous day, the account showed the image of a fighter-shaped black shadow cast on a man playing golf in a red shirt on the green grass, and “The man who killed General Soleimani and the man who ordered the murder must be punished. Revenge will certainly come when the right time is right.”

Although the target was not specified, interpretations suggest that the message was aimed at the retired former President Trump. Soleimani, commander of the Kudsu Army of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, was killed on January 3 last year after being attacked by a US military drone carrying a bomb at Baghdad International Airport. The Iranian government had publicly pledged retaliation against the United States.

In a statement, Twitter explained the reason for the permanent suspension, saying, “This account violated the policy related to’manipulation and spam’, especially the opening of fake accounts.”

In response to the AP’s request for comment, a Twitter spokesman added that the tweets of golfers and drones violate the company’s “sadistic behavior policy”.

Although the use of Twitter itself was banned in Iran, Hamenei reportedly continued to use his Twitter account. Earlier this month, Twitter suspended Hamenei’s English account (@khamenei_ir). It was just after questioning the reliability of the Corona 19 vaccine manufactured in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Jason Broadsky, policy director of the United States’ anti-Iranian anti-Iranian anti-nuclear association (UANI), argued that “Twitter accounts of Iran’s top leaders should be closed as they promote violence and spew out false information.”

Former President Trump has also been suspended forever on Twitter. Twitter permanently suspended the account (@realDonaldTrump) in the name of former President Trump after the U.S. Congressional riots on the 8th.
