Trump “will not win the election results” | Voice of America

President Donald Trump said he would never acknowledge the results of last year’s presidential elections.

President Trump came to a protest near the White House that day, saying, emphasizing that he will never give up.

Meanwhile, President Trump denied a report in the New York Times newspaper that said Vice President Mike Pence had told him he had no authority to intervene in counting the results of the presidential elections vote.

“This report is fake news,” Trump said on Twitter. “I and Vice President Pence fully agreed that the vice president has the right not to admit the electoral vote results.”

The New York Times newspaper reported on the 5th that Vice President Pence told President Trump during a luncheon with President Trump that he believed he had no authority to prevent Congress from approving electoral vote results.

The U.S. Senate and House of Representatives meet in a joint meeting today to approve electoral vote results. The Vice President views society in this process.

However, the Vice President has no power to prevent the approval of voting results. The Vice President only plays a symbolic role in this process.

Vice President Pence has not so far publicly said he would intervene in the process of approving electoral vote results at the request of President Trump. He is known only to have said that lawmakers support the right to challenge the electoral vote results.

President Trump recently argued that “the vice president has various powers under the constitution,” and that “the vice president can correct the election results without recognizing the results.”
