During the tenure of US President Donald Trump, the average approval rating was 41.1%, the lowest among all presidents.
On the 4th to 15th, Gallup, an American polling agency, conducted the final approval rating for President Trump on 1,23 adult men and women aged 18 and older (sampling error is ±4% points on 95% confidence level).
During President Trump’s tenure, the average approval rating was the lowest since Gallup began a previous presidential approval survey in 1938.
The previous record is 45.4% of former President Harry Truman.
President Trump’s final approval rating just before his retirement was 34%, the lowest during his tenure.
Trump’s final approval rating is the second lowest ever since Truman (32%), and is tied with former Presidents George W. Bush and Jimmy Carter.
Former President Richard Nixon was excluded from comparison because he had resigned during the Watergate case.
Former President Nixon’s approval rating just before Haya was 24%.
Gallup said, “All positive momentum towards President Trump has been erased since the presidential election in November last year.” They analyzed that the approval of the impeachment bill led to the decline in approval ratings.
During Trump’s tenure, 88% of Republicans gave full support to President Trump, but Democrats showed an extreme gap in approval ratings, reaching only 7%.
“The gap in approval ratings (81 percentage points) for President Trump according to the political party was the largest of all presidents,” Gallup said.
