The government initially planned to inoculate AstraZeneca vaccine to workers in nursing hospitals and nursing facilities, as well as all hospitalized and inpatients in the first quarter, but according to the’careful decision’ recommendation of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, those 65 years of age or older are not eligible for vaccination. Excluded.
The safety and effectiveness of the AstraZeneca vaccine has been proven, but the lack of clinical studies targeting the elderly was the reason for the’careful decision’ recommendation.

Meanwhile, the government periodically reviews cases of adverse reactions that may appear as vaccinations are in full swing and discloses the results transparently.
The Agency for Disease Control and Prevention plans to hold a meeting of the’Vaccination Damage Investigation Group’ consisting of clinicians and forensic experts every Friday afternoon to review cases of reports of serious adverse reactions such as death.
The meeting will focus on whether there is a causal relationship between each case and vaccination.
The results of the expert review will be announced through regular briefings at the Central Defense Countermeasure Headquarters (Bangdaebon) on the afternoon of the following Monday.
As of 0 o’clock on this day, 13 reported cases of death after receiving the Corona 19 vaccine.
As a result of the review of the damage investigation group meeting held on the 7th, the Korea disease agency said, “It was tentatively judged as a case where the causality between adverse reactions and death after vaccination was difficult to be recognized.”
