During the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Games, which will be held in July, the policy to not accept foreign audiences has been officially decided.

According to Japan’s Kyodo News Agency and NHK on the 20th, the Japanese government, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the event organizing committee, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) held an online five-party meeting and concluded the same conclusion.

Conclusion to eradicate Japanese public anxiety

As the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) situation around the world is still continuing, it seems that the decision was made to relieve the Japanese people’s anxiety about hosting the Tokyo Olympics.

The meeting was attended by Seiko Hashimoto, chairman of the organizing committee of the convention, Marukawa Tamayo, the Japanese Government Olympic Officer, Koike Yuriko, Tokyo Governor, Thomas Bach, IOC Chairman, and Andrew Parsons IPC Chairman.

The Japanese government and the organizing committee have decided not to accept the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic volunteer groups living abroad in principle.
