The quarantine authorities initially announced the number of new confirmed cases as 406 as of 0 o’clock on the 26th, but corrected it to 390 excluding 16 cases of `false positive` confirmed in Uiseong-gun, Gyeongbuk. One additional false-positive case confirmed the day before will be reflected in the statistics on the day.

The quarantine authorities and local governments, such as the Seoul Metropolitan Government, counted 307 new cases from 0 to 9 pm the previous day, 67 fewer than the previous day (374).

The number of new confirmed cases has been declining gradually in the new year, but in the aftermath of the recent group infection, it once skyrocketed to 600, and now it is moving to 300-400.

In the last week (2.21~27), ​​the number of new confirmed patients per day recorded 416 → 332 → 356 → 440 → 396 → 390 (corrected from 406) → 415, an average of 392 per day.

Among them, the number of confirmed cases of local outbreaks on average daily, which is a key indicator of the adjustment of the distance-taking stage, was 370, maintaining the range of the second stage (over 300 persons nationwide).

However, there is a high concern about further spread due to the recent rapid increase in cases of group infections involving workplaces such as manufacturing.

Of the 71 cases of group infection that occurred in the last two weeks (2.12-25), 19 cases were related to the workplace, and a total of 633 confirmed cases.

The area is concentrated in the metropolitan area (9 cases) and the Chungcheong area (8 cases).

As a representative example, there were nearly 200 confirmed cases each at the plastic factory in Jingwan Industrial Complex (cumulative 189 people) in Namyang-si, Gyeonggi Province, and the cricket boiler factory (192 people) in Asan-si, Chungcheongnam-do. 14 and 12 were confirmed respectively.
