Today (26th) is’The Day of Protection of the West Sea’. It is a day to commemorate the heroes of the protectorate who died while defending the country during the 2nd Yeonpyeong Naval Battle, the Cheonan bombardment, and the Yeonpyeong Island bombardment provocation. It is also the 11th anniversary of the Cheonan.

From 2 p.m. at the 2nd Fleet Command of the Pyeongtaek Navy, the ‘6th West Sea Protection Day Commemoration Ceremony-Have You Dedicated Your Body and Mind’ was held.

Park Bo-gum proceeded the ceremony with a clear and accurate pronunciation. As he started the ceremony “Private victory! I am Park Bo-gum, the Navy’s private soldier. The strongest security is peace. Our soldiers want to reward the sacrifices of the heroes while protecting the peace and the sea.”Said.

Meanwhile, the late Private Moon Kwang-wook’s father, who was killed at the age of 20 during the North Korean bombing of Yeonpyeong Island, asked the JoongAng Ilbo on the 26th to “use the expression of artillery warfare, not provocation,” but the word “provocation” was used at the ceremony that day.
