According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on the 28th, the total number of unsold homes nationwide as of the end of January was 17,130, the lowest ever since the start of the survey in 2000. The lowest point just before was 17,324 households recorded in April 2002. Compared to last month (19,500 households), it was 9.9%, compared to last year (43,268 households), a whopping 60.4% decrease.
The number of unsold homes nationwide peaked in March 2009 (16,5641 households) after the global financial crisis, and has declined since then, and has maintained the level of 40 to 60,000 households in recent years. However, as the demand for housing has recently increased, unsold apartments that have been marginalized have recently become popular and are rapidly exhausting. After the new lease law (the right to apply for contract renewal, the ceiling on rent for jeonse), the soaring rent for rent has also urged homeless people to come up with their own homes with unsold sales.
By region, the metropolitan area decreased by 12.7% compared to 1861 households (2131 households), and the local 15,269 households decreased by 9.5% compared to the delivery (11,6874 households). By housing type, 637 units of medium-sized and large-sized units exceeding 85㎡ for exclusive use were 9.0% from the previous month, and 16,493 units of 85㎡ or less were reduced by 9.9% from the previous month.

Meanwhile, the number of licensed housing units in January was 26,000, an increase of 9.2% compared to the same month last year (2,3978 households). By region, the metropolitan area reached 12,163 households (21.1% ↓ in Seoul), down 0.4% from a year ago, while in the same period, the local area increased by 19.2% to 14,020 households.
By house type, the number of apartments licensed to 11,954 units increased by 12.8% from a year ago, and the number of non-apartment houses decreased by 0.2% to 6642 units.
