Tiger Woods, who severely injured his leg in a car rollover accident, announced on the 26th (local time) that he had successfully completed a follow-up operation.
Woods tweeted that day, “Tiger was moved to Cedars Sinai Hospital, and he had a follow-up operation this morning. The operation was successful, and he is now recovering and rejuvenating.”
The Cedars Sinai Hospital, moved by Woods, has 886 beds, and is the second best hospital in the western United States after UCLA Medical Center. It was ranked 7th in the United States and received trauma center certification.
CNN explained that the hospital is affiliated with facilities renowned for sports medicine and related surgery.
Woods was in a rollover accident on the 23rd at 7:12 am while driving Hyundai’s luxury brand Genesis GV80 near Rancho Palos Verdes in Los Angeles, California.
The accident caused Woods to suffer a comminuted open fracture in which the bone penetrates the skin in the upper and lower part of the right shin and calf. Accordingly, Woods underwent an urgent surgery to fix the shin and calf bones with an iron core, and to recombine the ankle bones with screws and pins.
“We want Tiger and his family to appreciate all the support they have received over the past few days,” said Woods’ Twitter manager.
