It has been reported that thousands of animals aboard ships waiting to pass through the canal are reported to be in danger of dying, while the Suez Canal in Egypt is paralyzed by a large container ship aground.

On the 27th (local time), CNN broadcast reported that there were 13 ships loaded with livestock and waiting for canal traffic to resume, citing ship operation information site’Marine Traffic’. Bloomberg reported that there were a maximum of 14 such ships, and the Guardian said that the maximum of 20 ships, adding 11 confirmed by animal rights groups to the 9 ships that were self-identified.

It is estimated that most of the ships that tried to cross the Suez Canal carrying live animals were on their way from Europe to the Middle East.

Bloomberg explained that the number of ships waiting near the canal were going from Romania to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is the world’s largest sheep importer, importing live sheep from Romania and slaughtering them in the Islamic way.

The problem is that most ships don’t carry enough food and water. “There are ships that run out of water and feed within two days,” said Gabriel Faun, head of the non-governmental organization Animal International.

“Some ships have feed and water for more than six days,” said Gabriel. Added.

Ever Given, departing from China and heading for Rotterdam, the Netherlands, was stranded in the middle of the Suez Canal on the morning of the 23rd. This accident has caused enormous damage as the passage of the Suez Canal, a key channel for global trade, is blocked. According to the Egyptian canal and trade service company’Lease Agency’, there are 276 boats waiting for the canal to open as of this day.

Director Osama Ravi of Egypt’s Suez Canal Administration (SCA) held a press conference on the day and said, “Fortunately, the ship’s arrow keys and propellers are working again, but we cannot predict when the ship will be able to float.” I will work without a break if I move,” he said.

Regarding the cause of the container ship aground, Ravi said, “Strong wind is not the main cause, and there is a possibility that machine or human error was the cause of the accident.”
