The Ministry of Public Administration and Security (Minister Jeon Jeon Cheol) announced that local governments across the country plan to recruit a total of 27,195 local public officials according to the plan to recruit new local public officials in 2021.

This reflects the increasing demand for retirement and parental leave, along with the demand for on-site personnel at the point of contact of residents, such as responding to infectious diseases such as health and nursing and social welfare and life safety.

In 2020, 32,042 people (general workers 25,651, firefighters 4,771, others 1,620) were selected, and as of April 1 of the same year, firefighters were converted to national jobs, and from 2021 they were excluded from the selection of local governments.

Taking this into account, this represents a decrease of 261 people this year compared to 2,7456 last year.

In the end, the total number of recruits was similar to that of the previous year, and the number of personnel in serial selection plans related to nursing and health related to responding to infectious diseases caused by the prolonged Corona 19 increased by only 13.4% compared to the previous year. Last year, the number of nursing, health, medical technology, health care, pharmacy, and health research jobs was 2,551, but this year an increase of 342 to 2,893.

Looking at the selection scale by job type, serial, and province, first, by job type, 25,610 general workers, 1,498 tenure, 49 special employees, and 38 professional career officers are selected. Among them, 828 employees at the 7th level, 24,130 employees at the 8th and 9th level, and 652 research and leadership positions.

Next, it plans to select 2,957 social welfare workers, 2,338 nursing and health workers, and 3,742 facility workers through local health and safety and on-site service for residents by expanding health and welfare services.

Next, by city and province, Gyeonggi-do (6,160 people), Seoul (4,223 people), Gyeongbuk (2,009 people), Jeonnam (1,832 people), and Gyeongnam (1,706 people) are in that order.

These new personnel are expected to employ 22,741 (83.6%) for the open competitive appointment test and 4,454 (16.4%) for the career competitive appointment test. It is planned to conduct a career competition appointment test before May.

Here, the Open Competitive Appointment Test (public loan) refers to the employment of a public official through a competitive examination, giving everyone a fair opportunity to apply without any qualification restrictions such as academic background or career, and the Career Competitive Appointment Test (Appointment) is a public loan when it is difficult to recruit It refers to the hiring of professionals with certain qualifications, such as qualifications and degrees, as public officials.

In addition, in order to realize social integration and to secure diversity in public offices, it plans to expand the selection opportunities for the disabled, low-income class, and high school graduates (planned).

Recruitment for the disabled is 1,429 (5.7%), which is higher than the legal mandatory employment rate (3.4%) for the 7~9 grade exam, and 826, higher than the legal mandatory employment rate (2%) for the 9th grade We plan to select people (3.9%). In the career competitive appointment exam for 9th-level technical high school graduates (planned), 373 will be selected this year.

On the other hand, the written test of public and financial affairs, which will be held nationwide in 2021, will be held on June 5 (Sat) for Level 9 and on October 16 (Sat) for Level 7. Specific details, such as the number of people selected by city and province, can be checked through the website of local governments and the integrated Internet application reception center for local governments (local.gosi.go.kr).

In addition, in the case of the 7th grade public loan written test (including research and guidance positions) from this year, English and Korean history subjects among the first required subjects will be replaced by the proficiency test, respectively. Multiple applications are also restricted.
