LG Electronics’ non-face-to-face quarantine robot’LG Chloe Sterilization Bot’ appeared at the’Best of CES: NEXT BIG THING’ event on the 21st (U.S. local time) and received attention. .
The event was organized by the Palli Center, an American media research institute. Each year, the Palisade Center selects and demonstrates the most promising and influential products among the products exhibited at CES. This year’s event was held online due to the influence of Corona 19.
On this day, LG Electronics demonstrated in real time the scene of sterilizing hotel rooms using’LG Chloe Sterilization Bot’.
LG Chloe’s sterilization bot removes germs using a UV-C lamp. UV-C ultraviolet rays are ultraviolet rays with a wavelength of 100 to 280 nm and are often used to remove various bacteria. According to the Korea Institute of Construction Living Environment (KCL), the UV-C lamp in this robot sterilizes 99.9% of E. coli within a distance of 50 cm.
The robot operates based on autonomous driving and obstacle avoidance technology. The height of the robot is about 160cm, and there are UV-C lamps on the left and right sides of the body. Robots move around indoor spaces and sterilize the surfaces of objects that people can reach. It can be usefully used for quarantine work in buildings with many separate and independent spaces such as hotels, hospitals, schools, and social welfare facilities.
This product is expected to be released in the US market in the first half of this year.
