Songpa-gu, Seoul, announced that the uncle’s statue was the father’s statue, and made the position of a public servant who received an indemnity from the employees.

According to Songpa-gu on the 19th, Gu requested the Seoul Metropolitan Government to punish Mr. A, a seventh-level public official in his 50s, who was investigated for violating the code of conduct for public officials, and canceled his position. Accordingly, Mr. A is excluded from work until the disciplinary action is confirmed. The reasons for requesting disciplinary action are violations of dignity and fraud.

At the end of last month, Mr. A personally posted the obituary of his father on the bulletin board of the Songpa-gu civil service union and received an indemnity money from colleagues. It is known that the amount of the bounty is over 10 million won. Mr. A also took a leave for congratulations and condolences for his father for five days, but it was revealed that the uncle’s award was notified by the employee’s complaints and internal audit.

In the investigation, Mr. A said, “When I was young, my father died, so I lived with my uncle as a father. I thought he was like a father who raised him.” He also said he paid his uncle the usual living expenses and paid for the funeral. It is also said that he has expressed his intention to return the indemnity money to the employees.

Song Pa-gu said, “Although Mr. A is in a position that it is unfair, the fact that he violated service regulations and the code of conduct for public officials such as vacation for congratulations and condolences, and posted an obituary on the bulletin board of the union that external stakeholders can see is a serious disciplinary factor.” Goo decided that Mr. A’s actions were not common sense, and that he made excuses when he discovered that he was an uncle. In addition to disciplinary action, Songpa-gu said it is considering civil and criminal actions against Mr. A.
