“There was no mourning…” Kim Sook, honored at the’KBS Entertainment Awards’ after 25 years of debut [종합]

Comedian Kim Sook held the grand prize trophy for the first time in 25 years of debut.

Kim Sook was called as the grand prize winner at the ‘2020 KBS Entertainment Awards’ held at the open hall of the new KBS building at 8:30 pm on the 24th.

This year, Kim Sook played a number of KBS entertainment programs such as’Battle Trip’,’The Wicked Person’,’The boss’s ears are donkey ears’,’The troubled son of the rooftop room’,’Empty and Filling-Northern Europe’.

Kim Sook won the grand prize in recognition of his achievements, overtaking Kim Jong-min, Sam Hamington’s family, Lee Kyung-gyu, and Jeon Hyun-moo, who were nominated for the grand prize together. This is the first time in 25 years since debuting as a public comedian for the 12th KBS in 1995 that all three terrestrial companies have received the grand prize.

Kim Sook, who received the trophy, said, “Thank you so much. “I couldn’t even imagine it,” and said, “Thank you for giving me a really big prize,” he said with tears.

He continued, “I received my first award here when I entered public service just 25 years ago. “I am so grateful to receive a big award in 25 years since then.”

Kim Sook said, “I am grateful and sorry to receive the grand prize at a congratulatory event from teachers including Lee Kyung-gyu.

She smiled, saying, “I have been told that there is no mourning, but I think I did it to get a big prize.”

At the same time, Kim Sook expressed joy, “In fact, I didn’t talk to my family because I was afraid to go back empty-handed. I am grateful to my father in Busan and my mother in the sky, and I am grateful to the production staff.”

In the end, he pledged, “I will give this honor to all those who are suffering from the medical staff and self-employed people who are struggling with Corona 19,” and “I will create an entertainment that can make even a little laugh.”

Meanwhile, the ‘2020 KBS Entertainment Awards’ was held in a non-face-to-face manner. While the announcement of the winners was broadcast live in the studio, the impression of the award was revealed through a pre-recorded video.

In the case of the Best Program Award (‘1 Night 2 Days’) in which the direction of the trophy was decided at the end of the real-time text voting with the Grand Prize, winners appeared directly in the studio and received the award.

The MCs were Jeon Hyun-moo, Jin Se-yeon, and Kim Jun-hyun, and at the end of the first part, a time was prepared to commemorate the late comedian Park Ji-sun, who passed away on November 2.
