“There is no other choice”…Park Young-sun officially runs for Seoul Mayor[종합]

On the 19th, Minister of Small and Medium Venture Business Park Young-seon, who had been running for the mayor of Seoul by-election in April, said, “There is no other choice,” and officially officially run for the mayor.

Minister Park appeared on the’SBS 8 News’ and said, “In the first place, there were too many issues of the Small and Medium Venture Business Department, so I thought a lot in various ways.” “Because the situation has become quite heavy now, there is no other choice for the party, I’m thinking about that.”

Regarding the report that he expressed his appreciation for the ministerial office, he said, “It is not true,” and “it has not expressed his gratitude yet.”

On the 20th, he avoided an immediate reply, saying, “The issue of personnel affairs is the responsibility of the president and the appointed authority.”

Regarding the composition of the opposition party candidates for the Seoul Mayor’s by-election, “I think it is much more necessary for the citizens of Seoul to discuss the future of Seoul rather than to gain power,” he said. “In particular, Seoul has become a global leading city in the digital age. It is a very important time to go out, so it would be nice to have a lot of focus on that part.”

Regarding the question of whether the Seoul mayoral by-election is expected to be held in a one-on-one versus a multilateral confrontation, he replied, “From the perspective of the Democratic Party together with us, it is appropriate to think of it as a one-on-one composition and to prepare for the election.”

Previously, after the first local election in 1995, there was no female regional government head elected.

In addition, in the Democratic Party, former Justice Minister Kang Geum-sil in 2006 and former Prime Minister Han Myung-sook in 2010 challenged the mayor of Seoul, but all were defeated by Oh Se-hoon. Minister Park also drank a high praise in the unification contest with former Mayor Park Won-soon who came out as a citizen candidate in 2011.

In 2011, former homemaker Na Gyeong-won ran as a candidate for the Grand National Party and scored 46.2 percent of the votes, but was defeated by former Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon, who won 53.4 percent.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party decided to hold the first meeting of the Nomination Management Committee on this day and receive preliminary candidate registration from the 27th to the 29th. The contest, which is compressed by a confrontation between Minister Park and Rep. Sang-ho Woo, is expected to be held in the last week of next month.
