According to the Meteorological Administration on the 9th, a cold wave warning took effect in most regions of the country on that day. The Meteorological Administration predicted that the cold will continue until the 12th and 13th.

On this day, the lowest morning temperatures in major regions across the country are 16.6 degrees below zero in Seoul, 15.2 degrees below zero in Incheon, 18.6 degrees below zero in Suwon, 22.0 degrees below zero in Chuncheon, 15.9 degrees below zero in Cheongju, 17 degrees below zero in Daejeon, 15.2 degrees below zero in Jeonju, 15.2 degrees below zero in Gwangju, and Daegu. It recorded 11.4 degrees below zero, 10.6 degrees below zero in Ulsan, 10.2 degrees below zero in Busan, and 2.1 degrees below zero in Jeju.

In particular, there were many areas that fell below -20 degrees Celsius. The worst snowfall for each major point is 136.3cm in Witsaeoreum in Hallasan and 76.7cm in Eorimok.

Gapcheon, Daejeon, also froze after several years due to the severe cold that continues day after day, and some areas off the coast of Jungwang-ri, Jigok-myeon, Seosan-si also froze.

Freezing was observed in some sections of the Nakdong River, and seawater was frozen in coastal areas such as Igidae and Taejongdae in Busan.

Domestic airports, which had been closed due to cold weather and heavy snow, have resumed operations, but there are cases of cancellations and delays. Sea roads and steep roads are under control.

Cheongju, Daegu, and Gimhae airports operate normally, but Gwangju and Jeju airports are often delayed.

Passenger boat operations on major routes across the country are still suspended in half.

Most of the restrictions on entering major national parks were lifted on this day, and currently only 18 trails in the Dadohae Maritime Western National Park are under control.
