In Gwangju and Jeollanam-do, the snow that has continued since the 16th is showing a lull, and up to 5cm of snow is expected to fall further.
According to the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration on the 18th, snow will continue until 12:00 noon in Gwangju and Jeonnam due to the influence of the snow cloud belt created in the west sea.
After that, it is expected to stop until 3 pm as the snow gradually weakens. Estimated snowfall is 1 to 5 cm in the western part of Gwangju and Jeonnam, and 1 cm in the eastern part of Jeonnam.
The amount of snow cover so far is 8.0cm in Gwangju, 15.2cm in Naju, Jeonnam, 12.1cm in Jangseong, 11.3cm in Damyang, 8.6cm in Gokseong, 7.4cm in Jindo, 7.1cm in Gangjin, 6.6cm in Yeongam, 6.2cm in Hampyeong, 5.8cm in Hwasun, 4.4cm in Wando, and Haenam. It is recording 4.1 cm, Muan·Younggwang 2.6 cm, and Mokpo 1.4 cm.
As snow fell into a lull, heavy snow warnings, which took effect in some areas, were also lifted.
On this day at 4 am, the heavy snow warning was lifted in Gokseong and Gurye, the eastern part of Jeollanam-do.
15 cities and counties, including Gwangju, Jeollanam-do, Jangheung, Gangjin, Haenam, Yeongam, Mokpo, Sinan, Jindo, Hwasun, Naju, Damyang, Jangseong, Muan, Hampyeong, and Yeongwang, where the heavy snow warning was in effect, are inland from 9 am on the same day. It is expected to be released in the order of eastern regions.

On this day, the temperature at 8 am is -4.6 degrees in Gwangju, -7.0 degrees in Gokseong, Jeonnam, -6.7 degrees in Suncheon, -5.8 degrees in Gurye, -5.2 degrees in Gwangyang and Boseong, -5.1 degrees in Damyang, -5.0 degrees in Yeosu, -4.9 degrees in Suncheon and Hwasun.
