Pension Fund, which is continuing the longest net selling march in the history of the KOSPI, net bought S-Oil, Lotte Chemical, and KT in February.

According to the Korea Exchange on the 1st, S-Oil was the stock that the national pension-driven pension funds bought the most in the securities market in February.

The net purchase amount is 125.3 billion won.

S-Oil is the only stock that pension funds and others bought over 100 billion won in February.

S-Oil is a company with high expectations for earnings improvement due to the recent surge in international oil prices.

Reflecting these favorable conditions, the stock price rose 24.63% in February.

Shinhan Investment Research Institute Lee Jin-myung explained, “S-Oil has the largest beta (an indicator of stock price volatility) among refineries, and it has the greatest potential for share price upside when the industry recovers, and earnings improvement in the chemicals and lubricants divisions is also expected.”

Subsequently, Lotte Chemical (82.8 billion won), KT (64.7 billion won), LG Display (53.9 billion won), and SK Biopharm (50.2 billion won) exceeded 50 billion won in net purchases of pension funds.

In addition, OCI (44.9 billion won), Samsung Life Insurance (43.9 billion won), POSCO (31.2 billion won), HMM (30.3 billion won), and Amorepacific (29.9 billion won) are among the top net purchases.

The pension fund sold net sales worth 4,319.6 billion won in the securities market in February.

It is 80.7% of the total net selling amount of the institution during the same period.

The stocks with the largest net selling amount are Samsung Electronics (1.41 trillion won), LG Chem (441.5 billion won), Naver (444.7 billion won), Kia Motors (254.9 billion won), and SK Hynix (2481 billion won) Etc.

Pension Fund has been selling net sales for two months on the KOSPI since December 28 of last year, recording the longest consecutive net selling record ever.

Pension Fund has been selling KOSPI shares since June of last year to readjust its asset allocation.

The proportion of domestic stock investments in the portfolio is fixed, so when the proportion is filled by a rise in stock prices, the amount exceeding the standard is sold.

The’Big Hand’ National Pension Plan announced an asset allocation plan to reduce the share of domestic stocks from 16.8% at the end of this year to around 15% by 2025 instead of increasing the share of overseas stocks.
