The solution to’charging electric vehicles’ that promotes conflict

[기자수첩] Sungsoo Ahn Political Administration

The spread of electric vehicles is expected to become active this year in earnest, but there are still many sayings in the world,’I have to buy’ and’I have to do not.’

The recent electric vehicle battery fire is also emerging as an issue, but the biggest problem is the lack of charger infrastructure and usage conflicts have not been resolved.

The charging station frequently used by electric vehicle owners is the apartment charger, which is close to the residential area.

However, there are still conflicts in progress, such as the charging line is still occupied by ordinary vehicles, and electric vehicles that have been charged are parked for a long time.

To solve this problem, the government created and implemented the’Amendment to the Act on Promotion of the Development and Distribution of Environmentally Friendly Vehicles’ in 2018, and imposed a fine for violating borrowers in accordance with the’complete prohibition of illegal parking and charging obstruction in electric vehicle charging areas’.

However, exceptions were caught. Among the parking facilities that received building permits after April 6, 2017, apartments built before that’electric chargers installed in parking facilities with more than 100 parking surfaces’ are subject to crackdown, and the effectiveness is inevitably reduced.

In addition, existing apartments that have not yet installed chargers cannot be pleased with the imposition of a fine. In the case of an existing apartment, a charger can be installed only after consultation between the residents, but will the charger be installed while bearing the burden of fines? It is a time when concessions and considerations are needed, but rather, it has only encouraged more conflict.

The government plans to increase the number of eco-friendly cars to 7.85 million by 2030. Of these, only 3 million electric cars. It is a policy to distribute 4,605 vehicles in Chungbuk alone this year. Charging stations are also increasing, but it is expected that it will take some time to complete construction.

It takes time, but it is clear that the supply of electric vehicles is certain. Will we continue to conflict, or will we show concessions and consideration by showing citizenship? Citizens clearly know which option would be better.
