The funeral of Prince Philip (Duke of Edinburgh), husband of Queen Elizabeth II of England, is expected to be held quietly with the royal family as the center.

According to AFP news agency on the 10th (local time), Buckingham Palace said that his grandson Prince Harry will attend the funeral of Prince Philip, but his wife, Meghan Markle, will be absent. Buckingham Palace explained that because Markle, a son of Wang Son-bin, was pregnant with a second child, he was advised to absent from the US, where he lived, because he had health concerns while flying to England.

Whether or not the Harry couples attend the funeral has attracted public attention. This is because they have had a harsh relationship with the royal family since they exposed the suspicion of racism in the royal family in an interview with Oprah Winfrey last month. Prince Harry and his wife posted a memorial message, “Thank you for the service of the Duke of Edinburgh and will miss you very much,” through Archwell, a charitable organization founded after their first son.

Buckingham Palace said that the funeral ceremony held in the original castle of St. George’s chapel is held as the royal head of the house, not the director. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson also decided not to attend the funeral of Prince Philip, considering the royal family. The British Prime Minister’s Office stated the reason for the absence, saying, “We are trying to ensure that as many royal members as possible can attend the funeral.” In the UK, social distancing regulations have been applied to funerals to prevent the spread of Corona 19, and the number of attendees is limited to 30.

The funeral of Gong Philip begins at 3pm on the 17th, and there will be a minute of silence before the start. Gong Philip, married to Queen Elizabeth II in 1947, had four children, including Prince Charles, eight grandchildren, including Prince William, and ten great-grandchildren.
