The second vaccination rate is approaching 50%… Israel “No More Blockade”

Israel, with the proportion of people who have been vaccinated against Corona 19, is close to 50%, expressed confidence that “there will be no more containment measures.”

According to Bloomberg on the 21st (local time), Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared on the army radio on the day and said that even after the general election scheduled for the 23rd, there will be no containment measures to prevent the spread of Corona 19.

Prime Minister Netanyahu said, “People say they will try to blockade again after the general election. But no. There is no need to do so,” said Prime Minister Netanyahu. “The reason other countries are blocking is because there is no vaccine.”

According to Times of Israel, there were 285 new cases of Corona 19 in Israel on this day.

The day before, the Israeli government released 337 new cases. Although the number of tests has decreased over the weekend, it is a marked decline. The number of new confirmed patients on the previous Saturday (13th) reached 783. In mid-January, the number of new confirmed cases exceeded 10,000. In addition, the positive rate compared to the total number of tests fell to 1.7%, and the infection reproductive index recorded 0.65. The number of severely ill patients also fell to 561.

Israel started vaccinating Pfizer on December 19 last year, and 57.02% of the total population (about 9.3 million people) as of December 20 received the vaccine at least once. The population who completed the second vaccination reached 49.97%.

Israel, with a sharp decline in the number of new confirmed cases, began its fourth blockade easing measures from this day.

As the vaccination went smoothly as planned, Israel has stepped up the blockade three times earlier. According to the 4th blockade mitigation measures, even those who did not get the vaccine can use hotels, event halls, and religious facilities if they receive negative tests through quick tests on the spot. In addition, the number of gatherings for large-scale sports and cultural events increased to 3,000 people indoors and 5,000 people outdoors.
