The US and Chinese delegations, which had been confronted by violent attacks from the first meeting, took a breath and resumed the second round of talks in Alaska.

At the meeting, Secretary of State Tony Blincoln and White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan from the US side, and Yang Jietsu, a political officer in charge of Chinese Communist Party diplomacy, and Wang Yi, a member of the State Council and Foreign Minister of Foreign Affairs, were represented on the Chinese side.

According to Reuters, the US and China resumed the second meeting at 7:30 pm (12:30 pm KST) after finishing the fierce first meeting on the afternoon of the 18th (local time). In the data distributed to reporters, the US side said, “The first round of talks was real, serious, and straightforward.”

Unlike the atmosphere of the first meeting, which was somewhat cluttered by the controversy over all speech, the US explained that the second meeting proceeds with discussions based on previously discussed interests and priorities.

Earlier, the U.S.-China battled over the remarks that took place prior to the first meeting. Both lawmakers continued their’bomb remarks’ toward the US in both remarks, and Minister Blincoln prevented reporters from leaving, and a’unplanned situation’ was directed against China’s attack.

After that, Secretary Blincoln made additional remarks in response to the remarks of both lawmakers, and both lawmakers are known to have made a second remark.

In this regard, the United States criticized China for committing a’diplomatic rudeness’, and China refuted that “It was the United States that committed rudeness over time to speak.”

Meanwhile, both representatives of the Chinese side met with reporters before the start of the second meeting and said, “I hope to have a sincere and honest dialogue with the United States at the second meeting.”

In addition, General Manager Wang, who was present with him, expressed his willingness to focus on US-China dialogue to improve relations, saying, “The serious difficulties in relations between the two countries should not continue.”

However, it is an analysis that the atmosphere between the two countries at the first round of talks is too cool than expected to have expectations for the remaining talks.

Meanwhile, the 3rd meeting is scheduled to be held on the 19th of Alaska from 9 am to 9:30 am (2~2:30 am on the 20th of KST).
