The background is drawing attention one after another by the residents of Songdo, Incheon, depositing 505 won each to the support account of the Democratic Party Chairman Lee Nak-yeon.
According to the Songdo online community’All That Songdo’ on the 22nd, the 505 won remittance campaign started in earnest on the afternoon of the 18th, and since then, an average of about 60 remittances per day and about 200 remittances have been made by the morning of the day.
The residents’ remittance of 505 won to Chairman Lee is related to the local pending complaint against the construction of a freight car parking lot.
Incheon City recently selected Aam Logistics Complex 2 in 10, Songdo-dong, Yeonsu-gu, as the best parking lot for a freight car in the hinterland of Incheon Port.
However, residents are strongly protesting that if a large-scale truck parking lot is built just 100m away from Songdo District 8, which houses 34,000 households, not only noise and smoke problems but also the safety of children will be seriously threatened.
Contrary to public opinion, after Songdo Aam Logistics Complex 2 was selected as the best parking lot for trucks, the residents now request a rescue request from the Democratic Party, the central party of the Incheon Mayor Park Nam-chun, and chairman Lee, a number similar to SOS, which is 505 won. Started a campaign to send money to a sponsored account.
Some residents made different opinions at online cafes, saying, “Why don’t you just send money to your sponsor account by spending money?” and “Why should I send money as a protest to a lawmaker who is not the party’s representative,” but the remittance relay continues on this day Has become.
Residents are raising the level of resistance by holding a press conference for the “Incheon Citizens’ Right to Life Emergency Response Committee” with the participation of former and current lawmakers with Songdo as their regional district, including Democratic Party Rep. Jeong Il-young, People’s Power Min Hyeon-ju, and Justice Party Lee Jung-mi.
On the other hand, the port logistics industry and the labor union are urging to implement the project to build a freight car parking lot in Aam Logistics Complex 2 as soon as possible.
At a press conference last month, eight organizations, including the Incheon Headquarters of the Public Transport Union and the Incheon Port Logistics Association, said, “This project has already been decided in 2007.” Cars that occupied the road illegally are rather threatening the safety of citizens,” he argued.
