At a hearing on candidate Kim Jin-wook’s first high-ranking officials, the chief of the criminal investigations, the opposition parties engaged in a battle over the qualities of candidate Kim and major issues.
While the ruling party focused on highlighting the legitimacy of the launch of the airlift, such as checking the prosecution, the opposition party continued inquiries about candidate Kim’s career and personal information.
In addition, Democratic Party Rep. Song Ki-heon said, “It is a request of the times to check the prosecution’s omnipresent authority,” and emphasized that “the right of investigation is coordinated with the police and the right of prosecution has been shared with the airlift.”
Rep. Park Seong-joon said that both former President Kim Ki-chun, former presidential secretary chief Kim Ki-chun and former Min Jeong-woo, who were involved in the Park Geun-hye government’s governmental Nongdan case, both were from the prosecution.
On the other hand, Rep. Yoo Sang-beom, the power of the people, criticized candidate Kim as “a convenient method for academic and training, self-development purposes” for taking parental leave and attending US training in 2015 when he was a researcher at the Constitutional Court.
Rep. Jeon Ju-hye also pointed out that candidate Kim was a judge and said, “There is a lot of concern about the role of a face madam because he lacks experience in investigating and has no experience in organization management.”
The ruling and the opposition parties also met with the follow-up line of the airlift.
Democratic Party lawmaker Baek Hye-ryeon said, “It is not the structure itself to select prosecutors who are on the side of either party because the opposition parties recommend two people each.”
However, Rep. Jewon Jang of the People’s Power of the People said, “Of the 7 people on the personnel committee, 5 people, up to one person appointed by the deputy chief, deputy director, and two recommended by the ruling party, become a group. It is important,” he refuted.
Rep. Han-hong Yoon said, “The core of concern for the launch of the airlift is the process of appointment of prosecutors.” “We will appoint a large number of people from Minbyun and with strong political orientation to become the’Minbyun Prosecutors’ Office.”
Today (19th), at the hearing hall, Miko Biomed CEO Seong-Woo Kim was present as a reference to answer the process of acquiring shares of Candidate Kim.
Candidate Kim is known to have met Kim, who was attending Harvard Medical School 20 years ago while studying at Harvard Law School.
Rep. Soo-jin Cho said to CEO Kim, “Personal acquaintance served as an opportunity to acquire the candidate’s stock, and this was not left in the minutes of the board of directors as a basis for the allocation of a paid-in capital increase to a third party.”
In response, President Kim explained, “I put everything in the disclosure and submitted it to the Financial Supervisory Service.”
For setting the price per share about 10% lower than the market price, he answered, “I did not give preference to only one person, but to all who came in.”
