The Republican leader in the U.S. Congress completely turned his back on President Donald Trump, one day before his retirement. It blatantly accused President Trump of encouraging supporters to invade Congress.
According to the US media, Republican Senate Representative Mitch McConnell said at the Senate plenary session on the 19th (local time), “The mob was infused with lies. They were provocated by the president and other powerful people.” He then criticized the protesters, saying, “They tried to mobilize violence and fear to halt certain legislative proceedings they did not like.” “But we pushed ahead and stood together and said that angry mobs couldn’t veto the rule of law.”
This is the first time that President McConnell made this clear statement that President Trump was responsible for the invasion of the Washington Capitol on the 6th. Due to the intrusion of the parliament, the Senate and House of Representatives suspended the procedure to confirm the victory over President-elect Joe Biden, and then convened a meeting again the same evening to conclude.
As President McConnell’s remarks came ahead of the Senate’s judgment on the impeachment of President Trump, it is highly likely that he will stand in favor of the impeachment by acknowledging President Trump’s charges. President Trump is accused of inciting the crowd with false claims that the presidential election was fabricated and causing a congressional invasion.
President McConnell has been President Trump’s strong ally for four years. But when President Trump lost the presidential election and even invaded Congress by his supporters, he gave up on his side.

Vice President Pence, Trump will not farewell… Attend Biden’s Inauguration
McConnell isn’t the only one who was wrong with President Trump at the end of his term. CNN broadcast on the day that Vice President Mike Pence will not attend the Trump farewell event.
According to CNN, Vice President Pence will attend the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden. Although the times don’t overlap, Pence sources explained that it would be technically difficult to attend the presidential farewell ceremony at the Andrews Air Force Base near Washington before the inauguration ceremony.
Vice President Pence is assessed that he played the role of faithful President Trump in the role of Lee In-ja until the congressional invasion.
