The reason why the Democratic Party is quiet against the strong opposition of Yoon Seok-yeol

Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol is against the proposal of the Heavy Water Administration Act, which transfers the prosecution’s six major criminal investigation powers to the Severe Crime Investigation Office (the Heavy Water Administration), but the Democratic Party has not responded positively.

The chief spokesperson only mentioned Yoon’s “noisy words and actions” and “please be calm,” but has not yet revealed his position, such as refuting the disputes of President Yoon’s remarks. Representative Lee Nak-yeon also avoids responding to President Yoon’s remarks.

During his visit to Daegu High Prosecutor’s Office on the afternoon of the 3rd, President Yoon Seok-yeol met with reporters and wrote a bill promoting the transfer of the investigative power to the Severe Crime Investigation Office. “Strongly responding to corruption in all areas of the political economy is to protect the people. It is the constitutional obligation of the state and the government,” he said. “Responding to corruption is to ensure legal procedure and defense rights, and to respond to the rule of law in accordance with the principle of court-centeredness, so legal trial activities must be organically integrated.” Insisted. General Yoon said, “The current’complete deprivation of the prosecution’s prosecution’ is an abbreviation for’complete deprivation of the prosecution’s,’ as a’corruption complete’, which is a major violation of the spirit of the constitution. I think it is a violation of the constitutional obligations of the Korean government.”

When asked if the prosecutor’s office was planning a meeting, President Yoon replied, “I think I will review the opinions inside the prosecution.” In response to the prosecution’s opposition, Yoon replied, “It is difficult to say that right now.” When the question was asked,’Is there any intention to politicize?’, President Yoon said, “I am not here to speak.” Even to the inquiries that Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun said to’Be self-respecting’ to Prime Minister Yoon, President Yoon replied, “I have nothing to say in particular.”

President Yoon interviewed the Kookmin Ilbo on the 2nd.[단독] Yoon Seok-yeol “Deprivation of the right to investigate the rule of law exterminates… “The people will watch me”) “The complete deprivation of the prosecution’s right to investigate” (complete review) is to provide extraterritorial jurisdiction to powerful powers in the political, economic and social fields. “This is a regression of democracy and a destruction of the constitutional spirit.” Revealed. “It is not just a prosecution organization, but a legislative law that destroys the criminal justice system for over 70 years,” said General Yoon. “If I can stop it, I will bet 100 times.”

In an interview with the JoongAng Ilbo on the 3rd, Yoon said, “The prosecution is not an institution of the law and order of the common people, but a harassment of the powerless commoners,” in an interview with the JoongAng Ilbo on the first page. He argued that “if we deprive us of that, we will retreat our society,” he said. General Yoon said, “What is important about the seat? It does not mean that the prosecution will not be taken away,” he said. “Organizations that fight evil should be specialized in each field. It is only important to not be tempted to be promoted and to build expertise.”

Despite the fact that Yoon directly responded to press interviews and other public opinion battles, the Democratic Party, which initiated the bill, is attracting attention because it has not actively responded to it, unlike in the past. The chief spokesperson said it was loud speech to reporters’ inquiries, but other leaders did not mention Yoon’s remarks at the meetings that were open to the press.

Choi In-ho, together with the Democratic Party’s chief spokesman, asked reporters at a back briefing with reporters about whether there was any discussions in the party regarding the interview with the reporters after the Supreme Committee meeting on the 3rd, saying, “We will firmly pursue the reform of the prosecution.” Separation and related issues are entrusted to the special committee for reform of the prosecution.” Chief spokesman Choi replied, “The Special Committee on Prosecution Reform of the Party is in coordinating various opinions, and the Party leadership is watching this discussion of the Special Committee on the Party,” and said, “Today’s meeting confirmed the keynote that the prosecution reform should proceed calmly.”

When asked,’If the prosecution reform proceeds calmly, will the motion of the bill be postponed after the election,’ Chief Spokesman Choi said, “If the coordination of opinions at the Special Prosecution Reform Committee ends, it will be initiated.” . If the coordination period is a bit longer, it may be possible after the election, but we are not discussing it specifically with (election) in mind.”

When Yoon asked for a position on criticizing the party and government policies, Chief Spokesman Choi replied, “I have a view that I am concerned because the prosecutor general’s words and actions are a little loud, and I am concerned.” When asked if that was the party’s perspective, Chief Spokesman Choi explained, “The party has a lot of such concerns.”

When asked whether the party leadership is concerned about creating a conflict with President Yoon before the election, Chief Spokesman Choi said, “We confirmed the principle that the prosecution reform proceeds calmly, and we are not coordinating with a special political schedule in mind.” Said.

Regarding whether the party would not respond to President Yun, the answer was repeated, saying, “We will slowly pursue reform of the prosecution.”

Lee Nak-yeon, president of the Democratic Party, said, “I did it with reporters before, when a pool reporter (Media Today) inquired about the remarks of President Yoon after finishing the inauguration and appointment ceremony of the Party’s External Cooperation Committee. It is like seeing you separately.

However, after finishing a meeting with small business owners (materials, parts, equipment) held at the Noksan Office of the Busan Economic Promotion Agency on the 2nd, Lee met with reporters who accompanied the site and said, “The prosecution to take full responsibility for the issue (newly established the Small and Medium Business Administration). “We created a special reform committee,” said some media, saying, “Since the special committee will hold a plenary meeting around the coming 4th, I think we will be able to achieve good results by discussing it.”

The fact that the Democratic Party does not directly refute or respond to President Yoon’s remarks seems to have taken into account the fact that when criticizing President Yoon in the past, the conflict structure was solidified and the opposition supporters were gathered. In addition, the perception that the prosecution’s right to investigate the prosecution is going to take the whole prosecutor’s office to the Heavy Water Office shortly after the reconciliation of the prosecution’s right to investigate can give a feeling of rejection to public opinion.

The bill in question is a bill on the establishment and operation of the Severe Crime Investigation Office, initiated by Hwang Unha and Democratic Party lawmaker on the 8th of last month. Rep. Hwang said in the reason for the proposal, “By separating the power of prosecution and investigation that the prosecution has, the prosecutor has the power to file a prosecution and maintain a prosecution and to request a warrant set by the Constitution. Through the establishment of the Severe Criminal Investigation Office, which is an institution of the Severe Criminal Investigation Agency, investigators who are public officials of the Severe Criminal Investigation Agency will allocate the authority to perform this.” This means that the prosecution will be converted into an agency in charge of prosecution. In fact, this bill is based on the prosecution bill and a bill to abolish the Prosecutors’ Office Act, originally initiated by Congressman Kim Yong-min of the same month.
