The prosecution examines the application of the murder crime of the’Jungin case’… Pre-trial decision

Receive reappraisal results… Pediatrics Association “Pancreatic damage is’non-accidental damage'”

It is known that the prosecution, which is considering the application of the murder crime to the mother-in-law of Jung In-yang, who died of routine abuse, will conclude the allegation before the first trial based on the results of the re-evaluation of the cause of death on the 11th.

According to prosecutors on the 11th, the Women and Children Criminal Investigation Department (Prosecutor Lee Jung-woo) of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors’ Office received the results of a re-evaluation of the cause of death of Jung In-yang, which was recently commissioned by three specialist autopsy personnel.

The prosecution is conducting a legal review on the application of the crime of murder based on the results of the re-appraisal. It is also considering a plan to add murder charges to the charges of the indictment, to make the murder charge as a’peripheral prosecution’ and the child abuse and lethal charge as a’preliminary prosecution’.

As the public’s attention is drawn to Jang’s first trial on the 13th, it is scheduled to complete a legal review before the trial date and decide whether to change the complaint.

An official at the prosecution said, “The investigation team is internally reviewing the results received,” and “We will make every effort to maintain the prosecution by reflecting the review results in the trial procedure scheduled on the 13th.”

The prosecution indicted Jang last month and applied charges such as child abuse, lethality, child abandonment and neglect, but the crimes of murder were not written in the prosecution.

In order to apply the crime of murder, it must be proved that the perpetrator had a clear intention to kill the victim and that it exerted the power to cause death, but the prosecution determined that the vocation in this regard was insufficient.

However, as it became known that Jung In-yang, who died, had severe abdominal damage that caused organs such as the pancreas to break, suspicion was raised that Yang Mo Jang had the intention of murdering, and the prosecution reappraised to determine the exact cause of death.

Previously, the Korean Pediatrics and Adolescents Medical Association also delivered an opinion to the Southern District Prosecutors’ Office that the crime of murder should be applied to Mr. Jang based on overseas papers.

An official from the medical association said, “The pancreas is the innermost organ, so it cannot be damaged by falling from the normal height.” It is reasonable to assume that Jung In-yang died due to’non-accidental damage’, that is, damage caused by intentional external force. Do” he explained.

The medical association is also planning to prosecute the family members, including her grandparents who participated in the child-raising of Jung In-yang, on charges of aiding murder.
