The aftermath of’School Violence Suspicion’ is spreading out of control in the Korean professional volleyball world.

On the 16th, the Korean Volleyball Association deprived of the qualifications of Song Myung-geun and Shim Gyeong-seop of the men’s volleyball OK Financial Group, who were suspicious of abusing, indefinitely. Prior to this, the women’s volleyball Heungkuk Life Insurance had been suspended for an indefinite period of time due to the suspicion of abusive violence, and the national volleyball association was disqualified from the national team indefinitely.

It is expected that they will not be able to work not only as players but also as leaders under the association in the future.

The Volleyball Association said, “A player who is found to be a harassing abuser has a’reason for disqualification’ even when acquiring a leader qualification, so the severe disciplinary experience acts as a’limitation’ for those preparing for a leader.

Song Myung-geun and Shim Gyeong-seop, respectively, are accused of assaulting and harassing their juniors during their high school and middle school years. They admitted to this fact and informed the club that they will not play in the rest of this season in the sense of self-sufficiency, and the club accepted.

Earlier, Sisters Lee Jae-young and Da-young also admitted and posted a handwritten apology when suspicion of assaulting a colleague in junior high school came to the surface.

In addition to these four, the controversy is expected to continue in the Korean professional volleyball world as suspicion of violence in school by another player is being raised online. In addition, the controversy over the academy of professional volleyball in Korea is being treated as a major foreign press and is receiving international criticism.

The Volleyball Association said, “We are seriously looking at the suspicion of abusing athletes. To respond strongly to school abuse and prevent recurrence, the’Sportsman’s Rights Center’ was launched, and an organization dedicated to sexual violence as well as school abuse was established to provide prevention education with the Korea Volleyball Federation. And plan to respond afterwards,” he said.
