This year, the only high school student with a perfect score was produced in Jeju, which is a hot topic.

“The secret to focusing on my new study is the perfect score”

On the 23rd, Jeju Namnyeong High School said, “As a result of the 2021 academic proficiency test, Kim Mo-yang, who is currently in the third year of our school, received a perfect score.” According to Namnyeong High School, Kim Mo (17), who chose the humanities field, received perfect scores in both Korean mathematics (Na-hyung) and two inquiry subjects (Korean geography and world geography). In the SAT held this year, Kim Yang received attention because he was the only general high school student out of three full marks of enrolled students nationwide. The other two are from own high school and special purpose high school. Three of the graduates scored a perfect score.

Namnyeong High School analyzed through a press release that day, “Moyang Kim focused on my new study with the goal of admittance screening, and after receiving the admissions application, focusing on the SAT led to good results.” He added, “The active participation in classes, after-school education activities, and self-study in school led to good grades.”

Except for two years as a child, Kim Yang is said to have lived in Jeju Island and have been teaching school, online lectures, and academy classes. The school said that it was excellent enough to have only one or two wrong problems even in the practice test taken before the SAT. An official at Namnyeong High School said, “With a calm and modest attitude, I have a very high envy to teachers and friends around me.” However, the school respects it and does not conduct individual interviews because students are burdened with the sudden attention of the media.

On the other hand, the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation revealed that the total number of 6 students (3 enrolled students and 3 graduates) from the 2021 SAT was the lowest in the last 4 years. In the 2020 SAT, 15 students got a perfect score. The perfect score for the 2019 school year was 9, and the 2018 school year was 15.
