The oldest survivor of the Japanese military’comfort women’ victims, Bok-soo Jung, passed away on the 12th.

Jung’s grandmother was registered as an older sister, and as of this year, she was 104 years old on resident registration, but it is known that her actual age was 99.

According to the Justice Remembrance Solidarity (Euiyeon Jeong), Grandmother Jung died in a hospital near the’House of Sharing’ in Gyeonggi-do, where she stayed since 2013.

Funeral procedures are held at the Christian hall, and the funeral schedule has not been disclosed.

Both the age of the family register and the actual age were the oldest among’comfort women’ victims.

Of the 240 registered with the government as comfort women victims, the number of survivors was reduced to 15.

Minister of Gender Equality and Family Jung Young-ae immediately mourned, “When I visited the Nanum House on the 10th, I wanted to recover because I was hospitalized when I visited the Nanum House.

Minister Jung said, “The Ministry of Leisure and Women will strengthen policy support so that victims of the Japanese military’comfort women’ can have a healthy and comfortable retirement.”
