The Ministry of SMEs and Startups, which welcomed Minister Kwon Chil-seung as its new head, announced the recovery of small business owners with the biggest goal this year. It is reviewing measures to alleviate the’annual sales of less than 400 million won’, which was the standard for the payment of new desired funds and support funds, and plans to establish a legal basis for incentives paid to profit-sharing companies.

Minister Kwon said in the briefing of the’Small and Medium-sized Ministry’s 2021 Business Report’ held on the 16th, regarding the 4th disaster support fund, “we are actively considering raising the limit of sales of small businessmen to be supported to more than 400 million won in order to resolve the dead zone. Deputy Prime Minister Hong Nam-ki said earlier that he is considering raising the standard for small businesses to be supported to 1 billion won.

In addition, regarding the recently discussed profit-sharing system, “we will establish a legal basis within the year” and “if large and small companies share profits in a wider range than in consignment and consignment relationships, the state will provide many incentives for those companies.” Explained.

The Ministry of SMEs and Enterprises is planning to quickly provide a supporting fund of 4.1 trillion won this year for the management of small business owners and recovery of the commercial district, and a special loan of 4 trillion won to alleviate the rent burden. In addition, the tax benefit will be increased from 50% to 70% to spread the private voluntary movement for good renters.

Regarding the compensation for operating losses of small business owners who have been damaged by the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), the position is to actively review the establishment of the system in cooperation with related ministries. However, Minister Kwon said, “The legal meaning of compensation for losses and the meaning of damage support are used together,” and “We will continue to interpret legally over time.”

In addition to supporting small business owners, the Ministry of SMEs plans to foster innovation ventures and start-ups as leading economic leaders, and build the foundation for growth of SMEs through digitalization, low carbonization, and regional innovation. To this end, it plans to discover and support 1,000 non-face-to-face innovative startups by 2025, and add 1 trillion won to the’Smart Korea Fund’ to serve as a pick-up service. In order to systematically support SMEs’ smart manufacturing innovation, the Manufacturing Innovation Act and the Special Act on Decarbonization Management are planned to be established.
