Chairman Shin established a research center from the beginning of the foundation of Nongshim in 1965 with the philosophy of’you can go far by yourself’, focusing on technology development and quality management. He called himself a’ramen man’ and’snack man’ and ordered the craftsmanship from the staff as well.

Chairman Shin also requested that the company and its products expand into the global market with pride.

Based on Chairman Shin’s philosophy, Nongshim has been the first Korean food company to enter overseas and invest in exports. In particular, Shin Ramyun, the masterpiece of Chairman Shin, is currently exported to more than 100 countries around the world, leading the K Ramyun craze. Nongshim’s ramen sales exceeded 2 trillion won (2.86 trillion won) last year, and exports of Shin Ramyun reached 440 billion won.

An official from Nongshim said, “Chairman Shin had a great attachment to the company until recently, carefully taking care of major management issues such as the launch of new products,” he said. “Until the last time, he left a request for the future of the company.”

In addition, to his family, President Shin left a request to “have friendship among families.”

Chairman Shin also donated 1 billion won to express his gratitude to Seoul National University Hospital, who had been in charge of treatment for a long time before his death.
