According to Gangwon-do on the 9th, Legoland Theme Park is a project to create a Lego-themed amusement park, hotels, shopping malls, water parks, outlets, etc. on the island of Uiam Lake, which is an island in Uiam Lake, with the goal of opening in the first half of 2022.
The Legoland project remained at the review level in 2007, but was decided when Lee Gwang-jae served as former governor of Gangwon-do in 2010. However, as the former governor resigned in January of the following year due to a violation of the Political Fund Act, the Legoland project turned to the creation of a flower island for all seasons. Afterwards, in the 2011 April 27 Gangwon-do governor’s by-election, Choi Moon-soon, Gangwon-do governor was elected, and came to the fore again.
Although the project has been promoted for over 10 years as a focus project in Gangwon-do, there are still many mountains to overcome. Gangwon-do and the Cultural Heritage Administration decided to further excavate the site on the right side of Chuncheon Bridge at the top of Haengdo Island, which was not conducted in the recent excavation of cultural properties.
