The government will execute 32.2 articles of public procurement early in the first half of this year

On the 11th, the Public Procurement Service held a’video conference for the procurement department heads in the first half of 2021′ attended by the head of the main office and the heads of 13 local procurement offices and affiliated agencies.

At this meeting, it was decided to speed up the expansion of innovation procurement and digital first innovation with the goal of innovation, win-win growth, and public safety this year.

First of all, it decided to focus on win-win procurement such as early execution of procurement contracts, reduction of the burden of guarantee and certification, and fair payment for procurement companies in trouble due to Corona 19.

It focused on public safety such as urgent procurement of corona 19 vaccine test and vaccination equipment, improvement of flu vaccine procurement contract, and management of emergency mask stockpiling.

It also plans to speed up the execution of procurement projects in consideration of difficult economic conditions.

Procurement contracts excluding foreign investment this year are expected to increase by 6% compared to last year’s 48.54 trillion won to 51.14 trillion won.

63% of this, or 32.2 trillion won, will be executed early in the first half to actively support economic revitalization.

This is an increase of 16% from the execution scale of 27 trillion won in the first half of last year.

Along with this, the Procurement Service’s budgetary business of purchasing innovative products (44.5 billion won) and the next-generation country marketplace construction project (23 billion won) will be promoted with a sense of speed.

The Public Procurement Service recorded a record-breaking record of 69 trillion won in procurement projects including procurement contracts, stockpiling and procurement support projects last year.
