The government invests 900 billion won to support corona-damaged medical institutions and crisis units

The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced on the 11th that they will invest a total of 900 billion won to support medical institutions that have been damaged by the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) or to households in crisis who are experiencing difficulties in living.

First of all, it will invest 125.3 billion won to provide support for diagnostic examination expenses and significantly expand screening clinics to detect confirmed cases early.

Medical institutions that operate screening clinics can receive payments for use in the first quarter of this year until April until they settled 25.5 billion won last year through the Hospital Association.

It also decided to provide 24.3 billion won to invest 5,000 people, including medical personnel, to facilities that need emergency response to Corona 19.

The government also decided to pay 14.1 billion won in labor costs for Corona 19 medical activities in a timely manner, such as paying additional allowances to nurses belonging to existing medical institutions who were inferior to dispatched nurses.

400 billion won will be provided to medical institutions, pharmacies, and general businesses that have suffered damage due to closure or disinfection caused by Corona 19. There are about 300 target institutions, and they are paid 100 billion won per month for 4 months.

An emergency welfare budget of 92 billion won will be paid to 60,000 low-income households whose income has decreased due to unemployment due to Corona 19 or due to closure or closure of business.

In addition, the deadline for the emergency livelihood support project, which was scheduled to end at the end of last year, has been extended to the end of March this year.

In addition, the government announced that it plans to pay quarantine and inpatient living support expenses (10,35 thousand won for a three-person household) and paid vacation expenses (up to 130,000 won per day) before Lunar New Year.

24.1 billion won will be invested to urgently expand negative pressure facilities to hospitals dedicated to infectious diseases and bases. This is a post-payment method so that medical institutions can respond quickly.

In addition, 11 temporary living facilities will be operated for the asymptomatic foreign-entry isolates, and additional living treatment centers for the treatment of mild and asymptomatic patients and extra beds for severely ill patients will be secured.
