Counterpoint Research said, “The launch of the Galaxy S20 series coincided with the spread of the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) in the United States, and sales volume was low.”
The Galaxy S series usually peaked in sales for two weeks after launch in the US market, and then declined. On the other hand, the Galaxy S21 series continues its sales tax after the third week of launch. If this phenomenon persists, the annual sales of the Galaxy S21 could significantly exceed the previous version. However, it is expected to fall short of the sales of the Galaxy S10 series, which was released in 2019 and became popular.
The Galaxy S21 series is composed of three types: ▲Galaxy S21 ▲Galaxy S21 Plus ▲Galaxy S21 Ultra. The highest selling model in the US market is the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the top model. It represents 41% of all models. Afterwards, the Galaxy S21 (36%) and the Galaxy S21 Plus (22%) were listed in order.
Counterpoint Research researcher Kang Min-soo said, “(Galaxy S21 series) is showing a positive response (in the US market) as the product price is lower than the previous version despite the improved specifications.”
“Samsung Electronics is expanding its flagship sales through aggressive promotions, applying some of the features introduced in flagship products to the Galaxy A series, and is actively promoting promotions for customers of mid- to low-end products.” It is expected that it will have a positive effect on increasing its share in the market.”
