[에너지신문] Chungcheongbuk-do announced on the 25th that in May this year, a hydrogen fusion charging station using biogas will be built near the Food Bioenergy Center in Bongbang-dong, Chungju.

This project was selected as a public offering project by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in May 2019, and is the first on-site hydrogen charging station using biogas in Korea to be completed after two years of technological development with a total project cost of KRW 1,190 billion, including KRW 9.5 billion. All. The on-site hydrogen charging station is a method of directly producing hydrogen at the hydrogen charging station.

Hydrogen Convergence Charging Station using biogas is a project in which 5 organizations including Chungcheongbuk-do and Chungju-si, Research Institute of Advanced Technology and others take part. It can be used as fuel.

With this project, Chungcheongbuk-do will secure 500kg of green hydrogen production facilities per day for the first time in Korea.△Currently, in other regions where by-product hydrogen is produced (Daesan, Yeosu, Ulsan), it is replacing expensive hydrogen that is transported at high transportation costs. It plans to supply hydrogen at a lower price to hydrogen charging stations built in the province before the hydrogen production base is fully built in Chungbuk.

It is expected that the two tasks of efficient use of resources discarded through the hydrogen fusion charging station and early entry into the hydrogen society will be solved at the same time.

An official from Chungbuk Province said, “We are actively supplying hydrogen cars and hydrogen charging stations to leap to the center of the hydrogen industry, the core of the future economy,” and “plan to supply more than 12 hydrogen charging stations in the province by the end of 2021.”

Chungcheongbuk-do energy manager Kim Hyung-nyeon said, “In the future, we will actively support research and development of related companies so that they can produce hydrogen in an eco-friendly and inexpensive way.” We will try to create a cycle ecosystem.”
