(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Shin Jae-woo = 250,000 people (500,000 doses) of Pfizer’s novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccine, which will be used for seniors over 75 years old, arrived in Korea on the morning of the 24th.

The vaccine delivered this time is the first delivery of the quantity contracted by the Korean government with Pfizer, and it arrived at Incheon Airport by UPS freight flight at 7:29 am on the same day.

The vaccine is delivered to 22 regional vaccination centers without going through an intermediate distribution center, and is used for vaccination of the elderly over the age of 75 from the 1st of next month.

The government signed a purchase contract with Pfizer for a total of 13 million people, followed by 250,000 on that day, and an additional 250,000 people at the end of this month, and 3 million more by June.

Pfizer’s vaccine, which was previously used for workers in the Corona 19 treatment hospital, was supplied by the international vaccine supply organization’CoVax Facility’, and it amounted to 58,000 people.

Meanwhile, a total of 79 million vaccines have been secured by the government to date.

10 million people were secured through Kovacs, and 69 million people were contracted with individual pharmaceutical companies. The quantity of each pharmaceutical company is 10 million for AstraZeneca, 13 million for Pfizer, 6 million for Janssen, 20 million for Modena, and 20 million for NovaVax.
