Kia unveiled the interior design of the K8 on the 4th, which resembles the elegance of a first-class airport lounge.

Kia first applied’Panoramic Curved Display’ to the K8. The panoramic curved display, consisting of two 12.3in curved displays, creates a concise and future-oriented image by smoothly connecting the instrument cluster and infotainment system. The open design without the top cover and the curvature optimized for the driver’s seat minimizes the driver’s gaze movement to help safe driving.

The excellent field of view and the sense of openness to the interior are also the hallmarks of the K8. Kia lowered the K8’s dashboard height by about 20mm and optimized the left and right A-pillar angles and the size of the rearview mirror module. The junction of the outside mirror is lowered from the window to the door, and a triangular window (delta glass) is added in its place to provide the driver with an open view in all directions.

The wood grain decoration with a luxurious solid wood feel, which started from the driver’s door, continues as if wrapping the first row through the front part to the passenger door. Adds a visual effect.

The wood grain, metal, and leather materials used throughout the interior, such as the center fascia, center console, and door trim, harmonize with each other, creating a comfortable atmosphere felt from well-made furniture. In particular, a diamond pattern and mood lighting were added to the central part of the front passenger seat and both doors of the first row to complete the’star cloud lighting’ that continues from the exterior.

The K8’s control system uses a black glossy (black high-gloss) material that harmonizes with the periphery to create a concise and luxurious atmosphere. In addition, it is ergonomically designed for ease of use by the driver in consideration of the frequency of use of the function.

Kia is the first to apply a touch-type switching control system to the K8 that can be operated by integrating an infotainment system and an air conditioning system.

The infotainment and air conditioning switching control system can be switched between the two systems with a button located in the center. In addition to buttons that require intuitive operation while driving, such as media volume and room temperature, all buttons are applied by a touch method, minimizing the space in the center of the room and realizing an innovative image like the latest electronic devices.

The center console is equipped with an electronic shifting dial (SBW) that adds a sophisticated feel with indirect lighting, and it has excellent ease of use as it gradually increases as it becomes easier to reach as it moves away from the driver’s body.
