From 3:50 pm on the same day, Baemin stopped operating B Mart, a service for immediate delivery of daily necessities, and Baemin Riders, a food delivery service.
Yogiyo has temporarily suspended its own delivery service, Yogiyo Express, and Yo-Mart, a’dark store’. However, although the participating companies are operating a delivery service through a partnership with a delivery agency, they have informed customers that the service may be delayed due to bad weather.
Coupangitsu also temporarily suspended delivery services in the metropolitan area around 3 pm on the same day. Coupang Itz announced to the riders at around 3 p.m. that day, “we will temporarily suspend the service for the safety of our partners due to bad weather conditions in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon.”
The reason why the delivery app service was disrupted one after another was due to the heavy snowfall that fell from 3 pm on this day.
The time to resume service is still undecided. The industry plans to discuss whether to resume the service according to the weather and road snow removal conditions. A Yogiyo official said, “Currently, the full suspension of the service is not under review,” and “It is expected that the current delivery delay or whether to resume the temporarily suspended service will be decided according to the weather and road snow removal conditions in the future.
