On the 23rd, the court concluded that it was true of the “forgery of the Dongyang University citation,” which is the core issue of the alleged corruption of the children of Dongyang University professor Chung Gyeong-shim, the wife of former Justice Minister Cho Kook, and sentenced him to a fine of 500 million won for four years in prison.

The judgment was made by the circumstances in which Professor Jeong falsified the career certificate of the company he attended 30 years ago. Professor Jeong’s side claimed that he could not perform counterfeit work because it was’community’ during the trial process, but the judgment of the judiciary was that’Professor Jeong can competently do related computer work.

On the 23rd, the Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 25-2 (Presiding Judge Lim Jeong-yeop) admitted that the citation of Professor Jung’s daughter, Jo Min, was forged, and referred to Professor Jeong’s past experience certificate found on a computer (PC) in the lecturer lounge of Tong Yang University.

The judge refers to a file named’經歷證明書(career certificate).docx’ found on the instructor’s lounge PC, and says, “Professor Jung scans a document and captures or cuts out a specific part of the scanned document and inserts it into another file. I decided that I could do the work well.”

This file proves that Professor Chung has worked in the trade department of a company in the past, and the certificate contains the details that Professor Jeong has worked for three years and five months since 1985. However, a revised version came out on the break room PC. In the revised version, the final career period was revised to 8 years and 2 months, and the stamp at the bottom was transferred to an image file. Through this, the judiciary saw that Professor Jeong had the ability to use a computer to cut and paste the stamped files by copying the career certificate received at the company where he worked, and then removing some and inserting it at the bottom of the file.

The judiciary admitted that among the copies of each citation submitted to the Seoul National University and Busan National University medical staff, the lower presidential seal was separately prepared. In addition, he did not accept Professor Chung’s argument that “PDF files cannot adjust the margins.” In addition, the prosecution’s testimony in court proved that the citation could be printed on a home printer, and that Professor Jeong knew that the extra listing paper was in the office cabinet of the Institute for Language Education.
