The Steam Award winners have finally been revealed. The game of the year chosen by Steam users is Red Dead Redemption 2.
On the 4th, Valve announced the results of the 2020 Steam Awards on the official website. The Steam Awards is an awards ceremony for games that entered Steam that year, and nominations and winners are decided only through pure user votes. In addition to this year’s game and visuals, story, innovation, VR, and sound, there is also a list of delightful awards on Steamdown, such as games that are more fun together, games that you enjoy casually, and the best games that I cannot. This year’s Steam Awards were voted from December 22nd last year to January 3rd this year.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was selected as the Steam game of the year selected by users. Red Dead Redemption 2 was first released on PS4 and Xbox One at the end of October 2018, and on Steam on December 6, 2019. High realism, immersive story, and newly added online multiplayer were well received, and it was selected as the Game of the Year by defeating Doom Eternal, Hades, Paul Guys, and Death Stranding. Red Dead Redemption 2 was also selected as a game that boasts an overwhelming story and achieved two crowns.
In addition, Half-Life Alix was selected for this year’s VR game, and Death Stranding was selected for the Most Innovative Gameplay Award. Paul Guys was selected as a game that is more fun to play with, which votes for multiplayer-oriented games, and Counterstrike: Global Offensive was named as a parental grace category that evaluates constant post-support. Apex Legend was chosen as the’best game I can’t’, a prize given to games that are difficult to play due to high difficulty.
