According to the Meteorological Administration’s disaster prevention weather information system on the 8th, it recorded -12.2 degrees below zero at 6:49 am on the day. On January 16, 2011, it was 12.8 degrees below zero.

Even on February 16, 1977, 44 years ago, the lowest temperature in Busan was 12.6 degrees below zero. Since 1977, the temperature has fallen below -12 degrees Celsius only three times.

On this day, the official observation point of the Nakdong River (Gupo Bridge No. 19-20) did not freeze, but the ships could not move as the area around the small naru was frozen. Seawater froze like icicles on the coastal sea rocks such as Igidae and Taejongdae, and the seawater froze on the sandbars of beaches such as Dadaepo.
