Kakao Commerce announced on the 22nd that this year, Kakao Makers celebrated its 5th anniversary.

Kakao Makers started with the idea of ​​minimizing economic and environmental losses by reducing unnecessary costs and inventory through order production in 2016.

Manufacturers are given an opportunity to reduce inventory burden and open a market, and users can use small and medium-sized brand idea products, resulting in a rapid increase in transaction value.

In fact, Kakao Makers’ cumulative transaction amount surpassed 300 billion won in November of last year, one year and nine months after the cumulative transaction amount exceeded 100 billion won in April 2019.

As of January, Kakao Makers accumulated 3,300 manufacturers and brands, and accumulated sales of 11.4 million.

Bae Jae-hyun, senior vice president of Kakao, said, “Because makers are produced according to the order quantity, it can reduce the inventory burden on sellers. Because of this feature, many small and medium-sized sellers We are using the platform.”

Meanwhile, Kakao Commerce’s transaction volume last year increased by 64% compared to the same period last year. The trading volume of Gifting and Makers increased 52% and 60%, respectively, compared to the previous year. As of December last year, Makers’ monthly active users (MAU) reached 6 million.
