On the 21st, in celebration of the 20th anniversary of the late Asan Chung Ju-young, honorary chairman of Hyundai Group, the interior of the old home of Cheongun-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul was revealed.
Cheongundong’s home is a symbol of Hyundai Group as the place where Honorary Chairman Chung stayed for 38 years until his death. In 2001, Mong-koo Chung, honorary chairman of Hyundai Motor Group, inherited it and handed it over to Chairman Chung in March 2019.
On the rocks viewed from the yard of the house, there is’Yangsan Dongcheon’ meaning’a place with good sunlight and beautiful scenery to live in the freshness of Mt. Geo(南渠幽居)’ is engraved.
Inside the house, the modern founder Jung Ju-young and his wife, Byeon Joong-seok, are hung side by side. On the other side lies the spirit of Mrs. Han Sung-sil, the mother of founder Chung.
The day before, the family of Pan-Hyundai, including Hyundai Motor Group Chairman Eui-sun Eui-seon, gathered here to serve as honorary chairman Chung Ju-young and Ms. Byeon Jung-seok. Ms. Byun’s date is August 16, but rites have been combined since last year. The ceremony was attended by Chung Mong-joon, the son of honorary chairman Chung, the chairman of the Asan Foundation, Chung Mong-yoon, chairman of Hyundai Marine Corp., and his daughter-in-law, Hyun Jung-eun, chairman of Hyundai Group.
On behalf of the honorary chairman Chung Mong-koo, the eldest son of the honorary chairman Chung, Eui-sun Eui-sun, the chairman of the Hyundai Motor Group, the eldest daughter, Jeong-seong, an advisor to Innocean, as well as the vice president of Hyundai Heavy Industries, Jeong Il-sun, and Hyundai B&G Steel president Jeong Il-seon. Former announcer Noh Hyun-jung attended with her mother-in-law Michigan Michigan, not her husband, Jeong Dae-sun, president of Hyundai BSNC. According to the guidelines for quarantine against novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), each group attended the ceremonies with time lag.
Before and after the 21st, the Beomhyundae family visits Seonyeong in Changu-dong, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi-do. It is reported that this event, which has been attended by families and employees every year, will be smaller than before.
